A Slick Macintosh Design, Inspired by the Very First Mac of All Time

"Disclaimer: This isn’t a real iMac."

Though utterly convincing in its execution, the compact desktop computer you see here is a piece of fantasy design work from German tech site Curved/labs.

You can put away your wallet now.

The team at Curved designed the conceptual “Mac 2015” as an homage to the first Macintosh.

And it’s a perfect little Apple lovechild: It has the stout boxiness of the Lisa and the sleekness of an MacBook Air.

A touchscreen is thrown in for good measure, allowing you to switch between mouse and touch mode.

The components were taken from a 2014 MacBook Air and modified to fit the iMac’s throwback design, which looks a little like a bent aluminum iPad stand.

As Curved writes: “An SSD flash memory with 128 gigabytes of storage is built in, either 4 or 8 gigabytes of memory are available.

The CPU is the latest i7 chip from Intel.

The casing is, of course, made of the same high quality as used for the aluminum MacBooks, iPhones and iPads.”
